How do I book a tour?
Tours can be booked online or you can email or call us to book. Don’t know what day to join us? Buy Walk the City Gift Certificates! Gift Certificates make excellent gifts, have no expiration date and can be redeemed anytime, for any tour.

Do your tours run year round, and how much in advance should we book?
We do operate year round, and tour dates and times may vary. Just be sure to contact us ahead of time to book. We suggest you contact us as soon as you know which day you’d like to reserve as our tours often sell out very fast. Last minute reservations could work, so please don’t hesitate to try. 

How many guests can you accommodate?
The minimum number that we take is 2 to 4 guests (WTC’s discretion) and our maximum for a regular tour is 10 paying guests (children under 13 are free!).  If you are a group of 10 or more please contact the office for a quote.

Can we bring our children on your tours?
Yes, and children under age 6 are free with a paid adult. 

Will my party be the only one on the tour?
Unless otherwise stated, tours are open to the public. Each public tour typically has 2-15 guests. We find that the more guests, the merrier, and meeting new friends is always fun!

Do you offer private tours?
Private tours are often available and can be arranged directly via email or telephone.

Do you offer group discounts?
We have group discounts available (certain dates excluded) on most of our tours. Please contact us via email or phone to discuss options.

What’s included in the tour ticket price?
Your ticket price includes our guided tour. It does not include tour guide gratuity.

What is your cancellation/refund policy? 
Walk the City Tours maintains a  72 hour cancellation policy. All requests for cancellations or rescheduling must be made in writing and received by email.
Cancellations received a minimum of 72 hours before the scheduled tour will be refunded the amount of ticket price only.  Processing fees are not refundable.
Every attempt will be made to reschedule your tour if such request is received inside of 72 hours. Requests for refunds due to cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled booking are not possible.

Are there set times for each tour?
Yes!  Tour times vary, so be sure to check our booking calendar to confirm.    

Where do we meet? 
The Encinitas tour will meet at the Historic 1883 Schoolhouse located at 390 West F Street, Encinitas CA, 92024 (corner of F Street and 4th Street). Street parking is available. 

The Carlsbad tour will meet on the bench at the Raw Skin Surf Shack( how fun is that!!) at 2796 Carlsbad Boulevard, Carlsbad, CA 92008 (at the corner of Carlsbad Blvd. and Christiansen Street).  Street parking is available near mineral water.

What time should I arrive for my tour?
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes prior to the beginning of your tour.  Please give yourself ample time to get yourself to your tour start. Unfortunately, it is very difficult for us to accommodate guests that arrive late, as our tour guide must leave with the guests promptly at the time advertised.

How long are the tours?
Each tour lasts 90 fun-filled minutes!

How far will we walk?
We will be walking about 1.5 miles on the Encinitas tour and about 1.8 on the Carlsbad tour.

What should we wear?
We recommend good walking shoes on all of our tours! 

What if it is raining on the day of my tour?
It is possible that an individual tour may be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. We do offer “rain checks,” and will help you rebook if a tour must be cancelled due to rain.  Walk the City will make every attempt to contact you in advance to discuss your options.

I have a medical need, what should I do?
Please let us know if you have any special medical needs, including wheelchairs or walkers.
